After a mostly quiet Thursday, we had a busy Friday. We first stopped at the Courtauld Gallery to see the exhibit; Fuseli and the Modern Woman: Fashion, Fantasy, Fetishism. After viewing the exhibit we stopped to see the exceptional collection of Impressionist painting…Monet, Matisse, Cezanne, Van Gogh. I stopped to see one of my favorite paitings – A Bar at the Folies-Bergere.
I love the ceiling above the staircase, and it appears this is the only photo I have. The museum was very crowded and taking any photos difficult.
From the museum we decided to visit the Queen’s Gallery in Buckingham Palace. I had visited there several years ago, and really liked the venue. The art museum had an exhibit of Japanese gifts that had been given to the Royal Family over the last two to three hundred years. Some of the items had never been on display before.
On our way there we passed Buckingham Palace and stopped to snap some photos. I had seen the Palace before but had never been close enough to take many photos, so this provided the perfect opportunity.
