We knew a transportation strike was scheduled for the day we were leaving. So, Hugh had ordered a local cab for our ride to the airport. We decided with all of our luggage we wouldn’t take the tube, not knowing if they were running or now, or if they were on time.
We cleaned up the flat, emptied the garbage and stood outside waiting for the cab. No cab. No cab. No cab. Hugh finally checks his phone and realizes we had an email saying they would be unable to pick us up. PANIC!
We dragged our suitcases to the closest busy street. And, I decided it was time to learn how to hail a cab in London. Wow! I did it!
We always allow a good amount of time to get to the airport but I still was nervous the entire way. But we arrived with time to spare, especially since our flight was delayed.
this was our first major trip after the pandemic. We decided on London because we were familiar with it and there is just so much to do, especially around the holidays! We made a great choice. We had a fantastic time!
