Canterbury

On to Canterbury…for two nights. We took a train from Dover to Canterbury and arrived mid-afternoon.  Walked to find our Airbnb…which was a lovely 3 bedroom flat.  The only issue was the flat was incredibly cold when we arrived, somewhere south of 60.  We turned up the heat, dropped off our bags and headed out to explore.

Canterbury is just lovely with small winding streets of old buildings., jsus like you would expect from a small English village.  We wandered the streets which hosted a winter market…ducked into shops to see the offering and then headed to the Cathedral arriving in time to hear the choir rehearsing.  The video is a short audio of the rehearsal.

Hugh and I always enjoy the Evensong services. Traditionally they have several short readings and lots of very good choral music. This was no exception! √

After a rather long day of travel and exploration, dinner needed to be close.  Thankfully a lovely Italian restaurant, Pinocchios, was but a 3 minute walk from the flat.  Oh my, was the food good! We had the special ravioli, Hugh opted for a beer and I had red wine.  We even splurged and had dessert..lemon cake for Hugh and creme brulee for me.
