December 3 was Hugh’s birthday, so we planned our day mostly around that. We walked over to Julianna’s London neighborhood and poked around some of the shops along Camden Passage in Islington.

There is a wonderful knitting shop called The Loop that I love to visit, usually coming out with a bag of yarn—or wool, as they would say in London. Today I resisted.

Along the passage, we came across another shop window filled with memories of Queen Elizabeth.

We walked on to Thai Square for a late birthday lunch. It is one of Hugh’s favorite restaurants. He loves Asian food, and London has plenty of restaurants to satisfy that craving.

After walking around and enjoying our meal, we headed back to the flat for some much-anticipated birthday cake!
