First Aurora Night
Barb texted us at about 7PM to let us know we were going out to look for Auroras at about 9pm. We met in the lobby and packed up fror a night of shooting. Barb was so generous, giving me lots of time, setting up my camera for the night shoot. I haven’t done much night photography, so her guidance allowed me to get some decent shots.
We drove southeast for about an hour or more and we set at Birch Lake started shooting about 11:30 and left the site at about 1:30. Then headed south to find more auroras. Found a lovely spot on Quartz Lake, but it was windy and I was cold, so I stayed in the van knowing Hugh would get some lovely shots for me to see.
The shooting wrapped up there about 3:30 = 4 and drove back to Fairbanks, arriving around 5:30. Then it was whatever we had in the room for an early breakfast, and to bed.
We are meeting at noon to shoot the dog races.
