Hugh, Jean and Tim traveled by train from Toulouse to Nice.  From Niice on Monday, October 7th we took a cab to St. Gilles to pick up the boat.  Julianna joined us there having flown into Montpellier from London. 

We checked in, got the key and decided it was time for lunch.  We walked the pier and found an unusual little restaurant serving fresh mussels which all of us ordered and enjoyed.  

We would see mussell farms along the waterway throughout the trip.

Below are some images of the Horizon 5 boat.  When we started planning we were uncertain if others would be joining us, so we rented a large boat, which meant that all four of us had our own cabin with bathroom.  I presume this has become the standard for any future trip.
