CARNON TO FRONTIGNAN
Tim and I woke up to an intensely colored sunrise and took photos of the boat’s bow. We talked about walking over to the Mediterranean to take some shots but thought the color might be gone by the time we arrived. But the sunrise colors lasted for about a half hour or more.
After sunrise, we were ready to walk into town to find a patisserie for bread and croissants.
Julianna and I returned to the bakery for lunch. As we were using our Google translate to figure out the sandwich fillings, a young man offered to translate for us. Julianna and I have become quite adept at using the Google translate on our phones. (My next step is to figure out how to have someone talk into it for the translation. I haven’t figured that out yet.)
More flamingoes today….
After lunch we were off to Frontignan. We knew there was a draw bridge at Frontignan that only raised at 9:30AM and 4:30 PM. We hoped to moor beyond the bridge for easier access to the town. As we had a later start than planned w.e were nervous about making the 4:30 time. But we arrived at about 4:20 so we didn’t have a long wait and there was only one other boat waiting when we arrived. Three boats went through on that lifting.
Listed under resources is information on how we planned this trip.
