New adventures always seem to call, and as we crossed a few more European countries off our “we need to visit” list, the next trio waiting for us was Switzerland, Austria, and Liechtenstein. Anyone who grew up with The Sound of Music feels that pull toward the Alps, and anyone who loves chocolate eventually wonders how the Swiss make theirs taste so irresistible.

So in April 2019, we set off for a month in this part of Europe, looking for new flavors, new views, and new places to photograph. We found Vienna, Innsbruck, and Interlaken; we stood in Zermatt with the Matterhorn in perfect profile; and we even took our first car-train, sitting in our car while the train carried us straight through the mountains — a small delight, but a delight all the same.
