Every piece of the lotus gets used. The fiber in the stems is used to produce fabric, and the remainder is used for paper or to produce vegan leather.
The green fruit is eaten, and the dried fruit is used for prayer beads and jewelry; the flowers are used for tea.
The fabric is softer than silk. I wonder how durable it is. It sure is lovely to feel, and the designs emphasize the product’s organic nature. Enjoyed my excursion to the Lotus Farm.
