Yesterday Golden Triangle, Chiang Saen and Hall of Opium

Yesterday we drove north to the Golden Triangle area. This is where the Mekong River and Rusk rivers meet and you can see three different countries.. We are standing in Thailand, so the trees in front are Thailand, the land to the left at the top is Myanmar and to the right across the Mekong River,Laos. The Rusk River is hard to see but it is on the lower left

The Hall of Opium traced the history of trade, including tea, between East and West, and the history of the Opium Wars

Question of the day/ fun fact: what business was the origin of Lloyds of London?

Chiang Saen was an ancient city in the area. Had great fun photographing the ruins and even had good light.
