DESERT SAFARI
After our visit to the Louvre, it was on to the Desert Safari. Our first stop was at a camel ranch. We got to pet the camels and take lots of pictures, but riding them would come later in the day.
At the end of our visit, the camels were led out of the ranch, but I’m not certain where.
Next up is the dune bashing. Before starting on the dunes in our vehicle, the rider let air out of the tires. I presume to keep us upright. But I was not convinced it was sufficient. Dune bashing was, for me, a once-in-a-lifetime experience, not to be repeated.
But when we stopped to let the SUVs cool off, the magic. I got to walk across the dunes and photograph their unique shapes and the gentle waves the wind had sculpted in the sand.
On to the camp for the night and the camel the camel rides… and meeting the falcons.
