DRIVE FROM VALENCIA TO ALICANTE

The next morning after having breakfast in the hotel, we ventured out with our luggage to find the train station. We had tickets to Valencia.

My internet scouting had paid off, we were right across from the train station. We lined up for the train, after having our tickets scanned and waited. About 5 minutes before departure we were allowed to descend to the tracks and find our seat.

The train ride was about an hour longer than planned as there was construction on the tracks.

Upon arriving in Valencia, we found the car rental booth, got the car in time to drive out of Valencia in rush hour traffic.

On the drive to Alicante, we passed field after field of Valencia orange trees. I wonder if some of the fruit from those trees will end up in our Safeway store.

The trip was uneventful, we found our Airbnb, struggled to figure out the locks, but we prevailed, and then wondered about dinner.

We picked out a restaurant from the list of suggestions from our Airbnb hosts.
Well following the Navigation system into Alicante proved challenging, we did find the restaurant, but we didn’t find a parking place.
We opted to find a parking place first, and then figure out dinner. Well the best parking was at the grocery store, so dinner was in that night.

Hugh took some photos of the meat counter in the Mercado. I need to share those.

The Alicante Airbnb we stayed in is listed as Villa in Alicante on the Airbnb site.  If you go say hi to Jonathan for me, he was an outstanding host.
