Deb and I had a long layover in Munich getting back to the states, so we took the opportunity to spend an extra day…and we made the most of it!
We stayed near the Marienplatz.
I got up early on our second day there to photograph. I found my way into an open building and had great fun photographing the interior, as I watch people arrive for work, I wondered what it would be like to work in such a historic building in such a historic place.
In the afternoon we took a segway tour of the city.
Angel of Peace – memorial to the 25 years of peace after the Franco-Prussian War of 1870.
Surfing on a river in Munnich
Following the segway tour we headed to the Olympic Park from the 1972 Summer Games. Both of us clearly remember the kidnapping and murder of the Israeli athletes, and remember the symbol of those games.
RIGHT: BMW Welt – I realized when I was in Korea that the same architecture firm that build the Busan Cinema Center in Busan had designed these buildings. I regret not spending more time with these amazing buildings.
